Why am I unable to open files created by earlier versions of SPSS?

SPSS Versions 16 onwards are unable to view and edit output (.spo files) created by earlier SPSS versions up to and including SPSS12.  However there is a legacy pack allowing SPSS 16 and above to open these files.

The legacy pack can be found on the staff only area  //software/SPSS/LegacyViewer

If you can not access the above link or need assistance installing it you should log a service call online. This is the preferred way to log a service call to the IT Help Desk who will arrange assistance from your local IT support staff.
