How do I install Microsoft Office 2008 on my Apple computer?

  1. Open your Office 2008 DVD or open the Office 2008 folder from the network share:   cifs://software.uninet.unisa.edu.au/mac

  2. If you are a DVD user please skip to step 3.  On the network share double click on the Office 2008.dmg image to open it.

  3. You will be presented with the following:Office 2008 Installer prompt
  4. Double click on the Office Installer to launch your installation.  You will receive the following notification.  Click Continue to proceed.This package contains a program that determines if the software can be installed. Continue?
  5. Click Continue again after reading the prerequisites.  Note the Local Administrator's Account Username and Password requirement for your Mac.Welecome to the Microsoft Office 2008 for Mac Installer: Introduction
  6. Ensure that you select your language of preference.  "English" is the University preferred selection.  Click Continue.Software License Agreement
