If you have Google Desktop installed and have recently upgraded to Outlook 2007 you may receive regular "unable to connect" messages in the message bubble in the bottom right hand section of your Outlook window.
These issues appear to be an incompatibility between the MS Windows Desktop Search tool installed with Office 2007 and Google Desktop. It is also a symptom of the Google Gadgets regularly updating which causes intermittent network delays.
At this stage our recommendation to improve performance on Outlook 2007 is to uninstall Google Desktop.
