Off-Campus VPN User Guides and Software

The Cisco IPSec Client is now the recommended method of connecting to the University network from off-campus.  The current Cisco IPSec Client software is very simple to install and requires no configuration. The Cisco AnyConnect client is available for those users who are running a 64-bit operating system.

Note for Linux Users

If you are using an implementation of Linux other than Ubuntu you must use the generic Linux Client. You may need to modify the VPN Client to work with you particular flavour of Linux. Instructions can be found in the generic Linux guide.

Cisco AnyConnect (supports 32 and 64-bit systems)

The Cisco AnyConnect client supports both 32 and 64 bit operating systems as outlined in the user guide. The guide outlines the steps required to download and install the client software.


PPTP

Please note that the PPTP protocol is no longer supported on the University's network.
