Connecting to data points in public spaces

Please note: The connection to data points in public spaces is currently being reviewed, soon points will be re-labelled as Auth-data and all authentications will require an 802.1x configuration on your computer.

Student

There are a number of data points available for students who are do not have wireless-capable laptops, to connect to the UniSA network. Identifiable by the blue surround plate, these are located in the cafeteria at City East, and on Level 5 of Kaurna Building at City West campus.

Note: These points are currently connected to the Guest VLan - staff connecting to these points will not be able to access some services, but must use a VPN client to reach a wider range of services.

To connect, you will need to provide a Cat5E internet cable.

Active points in teaching spaces

There are a large number of active data points in shared (bookable) teaching areas, these are currently configured as staff or student and can be used by all registered users without the use of any special clients. See teaching room locations and availability of network points for more information about the location of these points.

Mawson Centre

There are a large number of active data points at the Mawson Centre.  At this time, Mawson Centre ports require a specialised 802.1x configuration to work correctly.  Wireless access is the preferred method of connection for standard roaming computers at this site.
