Who we are

O'Bahn

Led by the defining theme of sustainable settlements, our research is driven by core areas of energy, water, agriculture, transport and land-use, and natural and built environments. As an extension of these core areas our research program embraces :
 

Sixty academics and support staff, a dozen adjunct research staff and some 40 postgraduate researchers in respected research areas came together to carry out interdisciplinary research that embodies the vision and focus of the Institute.  They conduct research programs across a broad spectrum of advanced systems and technologies that are fundamental to the built and natural environments of our communities. They have strong national and international research reputations in the broad area of environmental sustainability in their individual research disciplines and work effectively with an extensive range of industry partners. ISST is working to integrate these capabilities to create new synergies in the delivery of multi-disciplinary research programs in the general field of sustainability.
