About ISES

ISES is the largest organisation in the field of research, utilisation and promotion of renewable energy worldwide.  It was established in 1954 and currently has in excess of 30,000 members in 108 countries, with its International Headquarters in Germany.

ISES is accredited by the United Nations as a non-profit, non-governmental organisation with major consultative status, and is a member of the United Nations Economic and Social Committee.  ISES played a leading role in the Rio Summit of 1992.
