Philaiphone Vongpraseuth

"Adelaide is a second home" according to Philaiphone Vongpraseuth, an AusAID student from Laos who is currently undertaking her MBA with UniSA. Philly returned to Adelaide, having graduated from a Bachelor of Engineering degree with high honours in 2002. Philly had great memories from the time she spent in Adelaide and did not hesitate to return when she was awarded her AusAID scholarship in 2008.

"I have travelled around Australia and around the world. Nowhere else is like Adelaide. The most amazing thing about Adelaide is that people are so friendly and polite. I actually learned good manners from here. Adelaide is best to live and study as it is the most affordable and easy going city."

Philly says that the best thing about being a UniSA student is the networking and knowledge building opportunities she has available to her through her MBA program. She also says the facilities and support by academic staff have aided her success. "The style of learning is good for students as it trains them for lifelong learning rather than relying on teachers".

Philly speaks highly of the MBA program and her Bachelor studies in Engineering:

"The MBA program at UniSA received 5 star rating in Good Universities Guide. UniSA is the leading University in terms of research and developing programs in Telecommunications and Chemical Engineering."

Philly intends to return to Laos to start an international development agency to further the country’s development. She will use the knowledge and experience she has gained at UniSA to teach local people how to adopt a greater cultural understanding and utilise this understanding for their personal and organisational development.
