When
I first considered university study, I
thought about going to the UK. However,
over a game of cricket in Nairobi, a
friend told me about University of South
Australia in Adelaide. The decision to
study in Adelaide was easy. The weather
and cost of living are a lot better than
the UK plus the standard of education
and cricket are excellent.
I had heard about Adelaide, particularly Adelaide Oval as it is one of the most respected cricket grounds in the world. I had seen the city on TV behind the cricket ground. Adelaide is a beautiful city; very centralized and easy to get about. It only takes a few days to orientate your way around the city.
I live in the city and it takes just 10 minutes to walk to Chinatown. From there, I can catch the free City Loop bus around the city, and to university. The people in Adelaide are open, friendly and appreciate and respect your culture. University staff in student support areas, appreciate and understand what international students need, being so far away from family and home for a long time.
At UniSA I have met students from all around the world, and have learned about different cultures. Through my studies I have gained an international perspective on business, especially in case studies about Asia. I have already experienced special moments since living and studying in Adelaide. I received the Golden Key award and was put on the Deans merit list, and I played cricket for South Australia's 2nd XI team.
