I
completed a Diploma in Network Engineering in Haldia - near
Calcutta - through an offshore program of TAFE before beginning
my studies at UniSA as an international student. I was introduced to UniSA by a representative of the University
who had come to the TAFE campus to discuss options for further
studies in Australia.
I’d never been overseas before and arrived in Adelaide on my own. Someone from UniSA greeted me at the airport which was really good and I’d organised my own accommodation at the Torrens Valley International Residence.
Options for further study are really good at UniSA. I am currently pursuing my honours year at Mawson Lakes and the topic of my thesis is "Planning In Intelligent Agents". I will be finishing my studies at the end of this year in November. At the same time I am also working at the University's Information Strategy and Technology Services unit as a Graduate Information Technologist.
UniSA also gives you the opportunity to be involved in activities outside of studying. I was the International Student Representative for Mawson Lakes campus on the Student’s Association for a while and through that was involved with the Multicultural Week event.
