Rosemary
Konaka particularly chose UniSA "because it was the only University in Australia
that offered postgraduate studies in Electrical Engineering majoring in
Electrical Power stream." As well as specialised studies in her profession
Rosemary has also undertaken the Introductory Academic Program (IAP).
Activities which include cultural adjustment, finding accommodation, on-line
computer training, academic writing and skill development .
"This was the best
time of my first weeks here in Adelaide because I was too busy to become
home-sick." Support from staff has also eased Rosemary’s transition to study at
UniSA and life in Adelaide. "I have dealt with the Learning Connection staff and
I can say they are terrific. My Lecturers and Program Director have been helpful
since lectures started to date."
Rosemary says "I am so glad I made the right choice to come to Adelaide. I am
enjoying my studies, though challenging, I am making new international friends
through various activities such as group assignments, practical’s and lectures
and through the university’s social life."
"Adelaide is a good place to live, it’s quite safe and easy to get around. I
certainly recommend intending PNG students to put UniSA as a priority."
