Linda Buquir, an AusAID student from the Philippines.
“Before I came, my only perception of Adelaide/South Australia
was in my mind, Now I can experience the four seasons, the
progressive city, warm people, good government and affordable
standard of living”.
For Linda, the Introductory Academic Program was an essential
part of her integration into life in Adelaide. “I found a second
home away from home because the Learning and Teaching staff are
very friendly, knowledgeable in their field of expertise and
very approachable. The IAP gave us a greater understanding of
Adelaide, University facilities and the teaching methods at
UniSA”.
Linda has found her learning supported by academic staff and
facilitated by the resources offered by the university such as
the computer barns, library, international student rooms,
tutorials sessions...”Awesome!”
Linda plans to return to the Philippines to implement her
re-entry action plan based on her learning experiences but is
committed to lifelong learning: “I will continue my commitment
as a student and graduate member of the Australian Property
Institute”.
Linda tells us that she has gained more than just an education
through her scholarship opportunity. “I have learned to adapt to
the environment of a multi-diverse culture, enhance my
knowledge, gain professional advancement and financially improve
my position through part time work”.
