The
developmental needs of the Philippines was key to why Alicia
Rosello Mundiz chose to study at UniSA. ‘UniSA offers the course
I intended to take up and it is very applicable to the
development thrusts of Davao City. In addition, Adelaide is very
conducive for long term studies and the people are friendly.
People always greet you with “hello” or “how are you?” You will
not feel alone here’.
There are many things Alicia enjoys about her program of study,
including the encouragement she receives from Professors to
research and make critical analysis. Alicia also receives the
support she needs in adapting to the new teaching and learning
styles. ‘The study style seems like it is tailor-fit to my
abilities and limitations’
Alicia is also appreciative of the rich diversity within the
student body at UniSA: ‘The best thing about being UNISA student
is my exposure to different cultures, not only to Australian
culture but to many cultures like India, Nepal, Indonesia and
China to name a few. Yes UniSA is a melting pot of many cultures
which I think make its diversity and understanding of our
fellows around a very important experience’.
In terms of resources and facilities, Alicia’s expectations have
been exceeded. She is able to work from home, accessing research
papers and reading materials with ease. This saves Alicia
valuable time and energy and the flexibility with which she can
work is truly valued.
"I would encourage more young Filipinos to study here in UniSA.
You will learn invaluable knowledge here."
