Credit transfer and pathways
Credit Assessor
Prior studies you have undertaken may contribute towards credit, exemption
or advanced standing in the program you intend to study. UniSA has credit
transfer agreements with institutions in many countries. Find out more about
these on our
Credit
Assessor (opens in a new
browser window).
If you have studied at an institution which is not listed in the database you may still be eligible for credit. Please contact UniSA International for details.
Pre-entry and pathway programs
English Language
Applicants who do not meet UniSA's English language entry requirements and need to improve their English proficiency can study at the following institutions:
- Centre for English Language at University of South Australia
The higher levels of the Centre for English Language at University of South Australia's (CELUSA) Academic English (AE) program are designed for students who need to meet the English language admission requirement of University of South Australia, SAIBT or Le Cordon Bleu.
Students applying for these institutions will not need to take the IELTS or other English language test if they successfully complete the AE programs at an appropriate level. Students will study for between 10 and 40 weeks, depending on their English level when they begin and the equivalent IELTS they require for their further studies.
AE develops the skills necessary for academic study, such as listening to lectures and note-taking, planning and writing essays and reports, and taking part in group discussions and spoken presentations.
Academic
For students who do not meet
program entry requirements, it is possible to
gain entry into a UniSA degree through a pathway
program delivered by partner institutions in
Adelaide, South Australia.
-
South Australian Institute of
Business and Technology
South Australian Institute of Business and Technology (SAIBT) provides pathways to University of South Australia bachelor degrees. Applicants who do not meet the entry requirements for a specific degree program can be given the option of applying for a SAIBT diploma in a related area.
Subject to achieving the Grade Point Average (GPA) required and subject to any other conditions, students will then be able to transfer, with credit, to any of the UniSA programs to which the SAIBT diploma is linked.
Programs may be structured to incorporate English language for international students who need to improve their academic English proficiency.
The amount of credit granted will vary from degree to degree. In many cases, a full year's credit will apply, in others it will be less. In some cases successful applicants will achieve considerable time savings on their UniSA program, in others there will be no time saved, but applicants will have a lesser load than other UniSA students

Eynesbury Institute of Business and Technology (EIBT) offers international students an alternative pathway to university with a Foundation Studies Program (link required). Foundation students will have the opportunity to study at UniSA when achieving appropriate score.
The Diploma programs offered by Eynesbury comprise eight courses which constitute the first year of a UniSA bachelor degree. Students completed the diploma can gain entry to the second year of a relevant bachelor program at UniSA on meeting the academic entry.
UniSA has more credit transfer and pathways arrangements with Technical And Further Education (TAFE) institutes than other South Australian universities.
UniSA also recognises some offshore foundation programs delivered by other Australian institutions or overseas institutions. Students who have completed the foundation programs are able to gain entry to UniSA Bachelor programs on meeting academic and English language requirements. Please contact UniSA International for details.
Students with qualifications from one of the following Group of Eight University Foundation Studies Programs can view the following table for minimum entry requirements.
