Sponsored projects - Bachelor of Industrial Design (DBDI)
The
Industrial Design Program at the Louis Laybourne Smith School places
great emphasis, especially in 3rd and 4th year, on projects undertaken
collaboratively with industry partners. These 'sponsored projects' allow
students to consult with local, national and international manufacturers
and organisations, as well as with other University departments, with
the aim of developing designs and prototypes for significant product
design projects.
Our list of collaborative sponsors and industry partners is constantly
growing, and at present enjoys productive association with the following
organisations:
-
SARDI
(South Australian Research Development Institute), a South Australian
organisation with a focus on research and product development for the
agricultural industry - Rollerchair, a national design and development company for electric wheelchairs
- Orbit, a national children's toy manufacturer based in South Australia
- Haigh's, the oldest family owned chocolate manufacturer in Australia, based in Adelaide and Melbourne
- Windmill, a national toy manufacturer producing educational toys and equipment
- Hills, an international homewares design and manufacturing company
- Adelaide Central Markets, a local South Australian retail organisation based in central Adelaide
