MBA Chancellor's List 2006

We are pleased to announce the following students have been added to the Chancellor's List for 2006.

Winners are chosen annually from each of our four MBA Programs around the world, based on the number of Distinction grades achieved in their MBA.

Chen Kuo-Hsin (Michael): Chinese MBA

Chen Kuo-HsinMr Chen completed his MBA with 1 High Distinction & 8 Distinctions.

Michael first graduated in 1989 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from the National Taiwan Institute of Technology. He subsequently worked in Sales Engineering and marketing roles with Schmidt International in Taiwan, before moving to his current role as CEO of Fluke International, responsible for the Taiwan market.

André Küpfer: Adelaide MBA

André KüpferMr Küpfer completed his MBA with 7 Distinctions & 1 High Distinction.

André came to Australia from Switzerland to study his MBA in Adelaide. His first degree was a Bachelor of Business Administration from GSBA, Oekreals School of Business Administration in Zurich. Having worked in various marketing roles in the consumer electronics industry in Switzerland, Mr Küpfer then spent 2 years working in France for Vivenco, before returning to Zurich to run his family business.

During his MBA, André won the 2005 Course Award for Competitive Strategy.

Liew Fook Nyong, Clara: Transnational MBA

Liew Fook NyongMs Liew completed her MBA with 1 High Distinction & 6 Distinctions.

Originally a graduate of the National University of Singapore with a Bachelor of Business Administration, Clara worked in marketing roles for a consumer products company in Singapore, them moved into a role as Marketing Services Manager for a Singapore based Company in the precision tooling industry. Upon completion of her MBA she has now been appointed as Customer Services Manager (Asia Pacific) for the NASDAQ listed Quixote Corporation.

During her MBA, Clara won the 2005 Academic Course Awards for both Managerial Finance, and Contemporary Management Skills.

Elizabeth (Liz) Main: Adelaide MBA

Liz MainMs Main completed her MBA with 10 Distinctions.

Originally a graduate of UniSA, Liz completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Science (Medical laboratory Science) in 1986, and thereafter held a number of appointments with Clinpath laboratories in South Australia, eventually serving as their Operations Manager (and Acting CEO) from 2000 to 2003. Liz now works for the Adelaide University Union as Human Resources Advisor.

During her MBA, Liz won the 2005 Asia Pacific Management Institute Academic Course Award for Sustainable Corporate Strategy.

Ning Mei Chuen (Lily): Chinese MBA

Ning Mei ChuenMs Ning completed her MBA with 2 High Distinctions & 9 Distinctions

Ms Ning graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Chinese Literature from East China Normal University before starting her MBA in 2004. She received a Scholarship from the President of her University for her outstanding academic achievement in her Bachelor’s Degree. Upon graduation she worked as a Section Chief in the Foreign Affairs Dept of the Office of Overseas Chinese Affairs. After 7 years, she accepted a new role as Personnel and Administration Manager for Pak Sik Enterprises in Hong Kong, where she and her husband now live. Ms Ning becomes the first CMBA student from Hong Kong to be added to the Chancellor’s List.

Catherine Wright: Online MBA

Catherine WrightMs Wright completed her MBA with 6 Distinctions & 1 High Distinction.

For more than 10 years Catherine worked in management positions in the United Kingdom and Adelaide, South Australia, for Harrods (Cavendish House), Clinique, Aramis, Estee Lauder and Benetton, before moving to the telecommunications industry . Catherine subsequently spent several years in the HR Industry with the Adelaide based Speakman Stillwell Group, and then as Senior Associate of the Hender Consulting Group. Her career next saw her move to Local Government as Manager of Economic Development for the City of Norwood, Payneham & St Peters, before she moved to live and work in Penang, Malaysia in early 2006.

During her MBA, Catherine won the 2005 Course Award for Contemporary Management Skills.

Yiang Kok Hon, Sebastian: Transnational MBA

Yiang Kok HonMr Yiang completed his MBA with 1 High Distinction & 5 Distinctions

Sebastian completed a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Science (Computer Technology) from NTU in Singapore, followed some years later by a Graduate Diploma in Marketing from the Marketing Institute of Singapore. After a 6 year career with Singtel as a Systems Analyst, Sebastian moved into marketing roles in the IT/IS industry, and now holds the position of Services Manager for Philips Electronics in Singapore. In this role he is responsible to develop business strategies in the Asia Pacific Region (China and Australia) for the Philips range of consumer products.
