MBA Chancellor's List 2005

We are pleased to announce the following students have been added to the Chancellor's List for 2005. This is the inaugural List.

Two winners are chosen annually from each of our four MBA Programs around the world, based on the number of Distinction grades achieved in their MBA.

Fen-Lan, Hsu: Chinese MBA

Fen-Lan, HsuFen-Lan, Hsu from Taipei, is MSI/Supervisor at Micro-Star Int'c Co., Ltd.

Of her studies she says "What benefits me most in studying the Chinese MBA is group work . Through classroom discussion , case studies and the constructive participation from the top professors and lecturers, we share our expertise in order  to further develop our abilities. The program has been a key contributor to my career successes."

Elly Kwong: Transnational MBA

Elly KwongElly Kwong is Vice President & Head of Information Technology at AIG Credit Card Company and AIG Finance Company in her home country of Hong Kong.

Elly says "The MBA program with the University of South Australia has not only provided me with the advanced academic training but also has given me an all rounded management perspective for my own personal development. The program was designed with 12 different modules to cater for the need of professionals like me to meet the ever-changing demands of the business world."

Lu Yu-Cheng: Chinese MBA

Lu Yu-ChengLu Yu-Cheng is a Consultant with Doa-Ching Consulting Co. in his home country of Taiwan.

Mr Lu said "UniSA provides a well-designed program and excellent teaching staff" and noted the "MBA program is effective in expanding management knowledge, enhancing problem-solving skills and broadening international perspectives. It really helped me a lot!"

Brian Lund: Online MBA

Brian LundBrian is the East Asia Regional Director for Oxfam America. Based in Phnom Penh Cambodia, he has over 20 years experience in agriculture, natural resource management and humanitarian aid across Australasia.

Asked to provide critique, "The IGSB MBA is certainly true to its growing reputation as a substantial and practical program. The opportunity that it presents to engage with faculty and students of diverse cultural, industry and organizational background is exceptional." from his perspective, "It certainly facilitates new insight, capacity and energy to meet the demands of business as we each know it."

Mahin Mahjabeen: Adelaide MBA

Mahin MahjabeenMahin Mahjabeen is Executive Director of a stockbroking firm in Dhaka, Bangladesh. She started her MBA in 2003, along with her husband who was also enrolled in the program.

Of her studies, Mahin says "Not only has my MBA Finance well equipped me to build up my career aspiration in the banking and finance industry, further it has given me the opportunity to think and act strategically in my personal life. My IGSB MBA has provided me with new concepts, theories, framework and most importantly 'case study' analysis approach upon which I can practice my business skills."

Darren Seah: Online MBA

Darren SeahDarren Seah, originally from Singapore, worked as an accountant for KPMG and Compaq in Singapore and Hewlett Packard in Canada. Now he is based in Washington DC as Controller of an early childhood teaching business.

On reflecting on his MBA, Darren notes that "I have benefited both professionally and personally. I particularly like the UniSA MBA because of its flexibility and practical nature.  The program at UniSA provided many opportunities for me to apply at my workplace. This practical component and the interactive nature of the program allows me to fully understand the theories and concepts presented."

Elena Yeow: Adelaide MBA

Elena YeowElena Yeow from Malaysia is a banker with experience working for both Citibank and also Standard Chartered Bank in Kuala Lumpur.

Elena says she chose to study in Australia because "One of my dreams was to study overseas as the teaching method is different from Malaysia. As my siblings had graduated from Australian universities, Australia automatically became my first choice."
 

Zhu Desheng: Transnational MBA

Zhu DeshengDr Zhu Desheng from Singapore is Senior R&D manager for Hewlett Packard in Singapore, based at their Asia Research and Development Hub. He is responsible for global product development of HP's printing and imaging products.

Reflecting on his MBA studies, he says "The 12 MBA modules are very well designed and catered for professionals like me. They helped me greatly in my daily management activities. Finance, Corporate Strategy, Leadership and People Management modules are among the best. I am extremely pleased with this MBA experience."
