Mentor scheme
The
School operates a very successful Mentor Scheme for newly arrived
international students. We ask senior academic staff from within the
School to volunteer their time as Mentors for groups of 3 or 4 new
international students for a period of about 6 months.
The Mentors will meet with their students on a regular basis over the first few weeks to ensure they are settling into life in Australia, finding their way around Adelaide, and understanding how the University and the School operate. We do understand that new students have many questions, and we also understand that there can be many and varied personal issues which need to be dealt with in the early months of settling into any new country or city.
Our Mentors include senior academic staff such as Professor Alfred Huang (above) shown talking with three new International Students who have just started their MBA journey in early 2006.
Many of our Mentors will invite their group of students to their own family functions or outings, thus giving the international students another wonderful opportunity to get an insight into Australian life and culture.
We want our students to enjoy an MBA experience which is rich and varied, and to occur in an environment where there is plenty of support.
