Support for students
Orientation Program
An orientation program has been specifically designed to ensure a smooth and successful transition into the MIB. The orientation workshops provide students with an overall understanding of the MIB program. Participants will develop core skills that are essential for success in the program. The orientation program includes skill-building workshops on teamwork, managing diversity, case analysis, online research, report writing and career development. The orientation program will also give students the opportunity to meet fellow participants and interact with IGSB Academic staff. All new students are required to attend the orientation program before commencing their course work.
Career Management Workshops
Students will be offered career management workshops when they have completed at least eight courses in the MIB. These workshops will provide students with the knowledge and skills required to manage the growth of their professional careers. Recognising that MIB students come from diverse backgrounds and have different career aspirations, one of the aims of the career management workshops is to help participants clearly define their individual goals. These workshops will include effective job search skills, resume writing, job application letters, writing a response to selection criteria, interview techniques such as behavioural based interviewing and career planning.

The Career Services Work Placement Scheme (WPS) offers a great opportunity for final year students to gain valuable work experience in an area relevant to their program of study. Visit the Work Placement Scheme website for more information.
