MIB Commencement seminar for study period 1

To welcome the new MIB students commencing their study program in study period 1  and workshop will be held the in January 2010. All newly enrolled students will be sent invitations to this practical and informative session.

2009 MIB Gala Dinner at Hyatt
The annual MIB Gala dinner was  held on eve of the 2009   August graduation ceremony, at the Regency Hyatt, Banksia Room.  The evening began with  arrival drinks  in the foyer and then guests adjourned to the Banksia room to enjoy a wonderful 3 course dinner.

Acting Head of School, Prof Malcolm Wright welcomed over 40 current students, their guests, alumni and the guests of honour, the 2009 graduants and 2008 MIB award winners.

Following the presentation of the graduant  a toast was drunk to their future success and then  the 2008 MIB award winners were  presented with certificates of acknowledgement  by Prof Wright.

MIB Awards for Academic Excellence
The academic excellence of MIB students is now to be publicly recognized with the new MIB awards for Academic Excellence.

In 2008 IGSB recommended 10 Annual Prizes for MIB students to acknowledge academic excellence and in March this year the University approved the recommendation.

The awards recognise high achievers in all 9 Master of International Business core courses plus the acknowledgement of the highest achiever in the course overall.

The 2008 Prize winners are:

In addition to recognition by the University, Award recipients will be presented with a certificate at our MIB Gala Dinner to be held on 3 August and receive a cheque for A$500.

We hope these individuals inspire current MIB students to study hard and achieve their highest potential.

Graduate already travelling abroad
Alice Upton
 Alice Upton, MIB Graduate 2008, is currently employed at UniSA International as a Project Officer.  In her role at UniSA she has recently returned from a trip to China with the Vice Chancellor, Peter Høj, and other senior management group members.

The delegation of senior UniSA staff travelled to China to acknowledge the importance of current science and technology relationships in China, create a greater awareness of the UniSA brand and maintain contact with prominent alumni.

Alice, after gaining a broad knowledge of International business through her studies, organised the whole trip which included meetings, accommodation, university visits, alumni dinners and many other logistical facets.

For Alice this is a great beginning to her international career!

2008 Graduation Ceremony
On the eve of the December 2008 graduation ceremony the IGSB held a reception to honour the 6 graduads being conferred the next day.

The function was attended by past and present students as well as academic and professional UniSA staff members.

Highlights of the event included a speech by one of first MIB alumni and current Program Director Dr You-il Lee. The evening was also an opportunity to for students to say farewell to founding Program Director Associate Professor Brian D'Netto.

The School wishes all the graduates the best of success in their future endeavours

2008 MIB Gala Dinner
The first MIB Gala Dinner, to honour those who graduated in August 2008 with a Master of International Business, was held at the Adelaide Hyatt.  The evening was an occasion for current and graduating students to celebrate in style the achievements of the 2008 Graduads.
