Getting started
- You will need access to the Internet
- A 56k modem is adequate. No need for broadband (no videos, no
audio)
- We send your study materials to you by courier or electronically
- We send you the required login and password
Hardware/Software requirements
Our courses can be accessed on any internet connection at 28.8kps or
above, using either Internet Explorer or Netscape. The courses do not
contain voice or video packages and hence soundcards, microphones and
web cameras are not required.

- Our MBA students are located in every continent
- They choose to study online because of their work committments
- Class sizes are usually no more than 15 to ensure maximum
interactivity
Typical online activities
- In every course we set up regular activities, usually on a weekly
basis
- These activities are designed to reinforce your learning from the
Study Guide and textbook
- The regular activities require you to actively contribute to the
course discussion board and are an essential part of your assessment
- We also ask you to do individual assignments, and usually a group
project
- When you enter the regular discussion are (called the Seminar
Room) we expect you to give your view on the topic under discussion
- We also expect you to 'critique' the views of other students on
the same topic

Group work
- In many courses we will place you into a group, usually with
students of differing discipline backgrounds and from differing time
zones.
- Groups work on their project in this sub-space and in due course
submit the project to the lecturer
- Each group has their own sub-space on the online site with their
own password
- Group activities are essential in an MBA to build the skills of
working in teams - an essential part of all organisations
Assessment
- All online MBA courses have at least three pieces of assessment
- There will usually be a Group Project
- There will always be an Individual Assignment
- Your active participation in the weekly activities and the quality
of your 'critique' of the work of other students, will also always
form part of the assessment.
