Learning support
The MBA is characterised by
a focus on the needs of the individual. Class sizes are kept to levels
where lecturers and teaching staff are able to work with individual
students and provide support and guidance through the curriculum.
Program teams also provide support for students with administrative tasks, such as ongoing course enrolments, scholarship applications, study programs, and access to student services.
In all of our locations where the MBA is taught, access to world class library facilities is available. In some locations, student counsellors are also available to assist students with specific issues of concern. In Adelaide, specific additional resources are available for international students, especially in relation to English language skills and support.
For Adelaide based students, and especially our international students, the University's Learning Connection service provides a range of services and resources designed to help students succeed. Services include language and learning development, counselling, careers, disability and international student services. http://www.unisanet.unisa.edu.au/learningconnection/student/default.asp
Postgraduate students also need to continue to develop academic skills, and many additional electronic resources are available in areas as diverse as:
- a reading log (Word doc 41 KB) which encourages efficient and organised critical reading and notemaking
- levels of understanding (Word doc 32 KB) that promote questioning and critical analysis
- Endnote software that organises your references (accessed through the library)
- the referencing and avoiding plagiarism website to provide information about various citations styles and how to follow academic conventions
- the assessment website that outlines requirements for various assignments.
