Beyond CPRS - The impact of climate change on Australian businesses

The federal government has proposed a Carbon Pollution Reduction Scheme (CPRS) to reduce the greenhouse gases produced by Australia's major emitters. It has been estimated that no more than 1000 businesses will be caught in the CPRS.

While the CPRS has been knocked back by the Senate (and will go back to Parliament in November) there seems to be general acceptance in the business community that, one way or another, Australia's large emitters will be expected to reduce their GHG emissions.

In this web seminar, the second in our series, Prof Helen Thorne will discuss why the impact of climate change on businesses in Australia will be far more widespread than the CPRS.

For example, there will be physical impacts, supply chain effects and consumer responses, which will imply both risks and opportunities.
