Our Award seeks to prepare students from diverse backgrounds to build financially successful, socially responsible and environmentally sustainable enterprises. The 4-course online program includes issues of sustainability, which are defined as environmental and social responsibility in every course.
The program "integrates environmental, ethical and social values with practical business skills. The theme of sustainable management in for-profit business is part of every course in the program.
Students learn about innovative management techniques and approaches and test the relevance of these ideas and practices in their own workplaces. Participants are encouraged to act and reflect on their learning while in the workplace.
Policy Settings
In a recent report, the global accounting firm PricewaterhouseCoopers surveyed the opinions concerning sustainability of senior executives from the energy, utilities, mining and resources sectors. All viewed sustainability as strategically central to their business over the next five years. 90% saw their existing policy settings as ineffective and identified a serious lack of sustainability literacy and numeracy in the business community.
