Our learning environment
The structure of the doctoral research program has been designed to ensure that those whose careers involve
them in extended travel away from home are not penalised if they miss a
week or so of study, and are able to schedule their work commitments around their
academic commitments.
Each course is conducted across an eight week semester. Classes will be held at convenient times for senior managers. Many units will involve candidates working progressively on an individual basis at the beginning of the course, supplemented by frequent email interaction between all stakeholders - staff and candidates. Connection to the internet will be essential to foster this research and reflection.
Initial work will be followed by intensive group interaction over a compressed time frame - three or four consecutive days which include a weekend - and lead into a series of assignments which test each participant's critical contribution to the field.
The program will be led by senior members of the IGSB staff, augmented by the services of adjunct staff, who are leading academics from our world wide network of academic partnerships. All classes in Adelaide will be held at the City West Campus of the University of South Australia which boasts state of the art technology, and pleasant surroundings in a city renowned for its cultural heritage, its safe, friendly atmosphere, and its lifestyle.
