Chinese Language and Cultural Advisor
China’s
emergence as a major trading country represents enormous opportunities for
Australian companies. However the differences in language and culture
present challenges to Australian business people trying to establish
business relationships with Chinese people.Leonie McKeon commenced Chinese Language and Cultural Advice (CLCA) in 1998 to provide Australian companies with essential insights into the ways Chinese people do business. CLCA helps Australian business people communicate with Chinese business people through the delivery of tailored consultancy services and workshops.
Leonie lived and worked for five years in Taiwan and China where she acquired fluency in Mandarin and practical understanding of Chinese language and culture. When she returned to Australia, before commencing CLCA she completed a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Mandarin and Anthropology and a Graduate Diploma in Business Enterprise at The University of Adelaide.
CLCA specialises in the education, food and beverage and hospitality industry sectors, as well as working in many other industry areas such as the automotive industry and information technology.
Leonie believes in providing high quality services with a high level of customer service. The clients of CLCA must always feel that the services they have received from CLCA are an essential ingredient when they are planning to deal with the Chinese market. They also must feel that their participation in the services of CLCA is a good investment of their time.
In May 2005 Leonie was awarded the Entrepreneur of the Year Award 2005 (Hong Kong Australia Business Association – South Australian Chapter). This award acknowledges excellence in bilateral trade with Hong Kong SAR and the Peoples Republic of China.
