On Monday 27th March, 2006, UniSA sets sail with the first in a series of Hypotheticals on subjects of great importance and relevance to Australian business.

Based on the famous programs of the same name presented by Geoffrey Robertson QC, these are not merely presentations or discussions: a moderator presents a scenario that poses challenges for each of the experts on the panel to solve in the blaze of the spotlights with just their wits, experience and knowledge to guide them. It’s intellectual improvisation. And blood-sport for the mind.

As the university attuned to the real world, we take great pleasure in presenting the first of these real-world scenarios to stimulate, provoke and challenge you.

Our plot will follow the progress of a family business venture in to the Asian market and will explore some of the contemporary moral, ethical, business, cultural and legal conundrums faced in the process.

Panel members will play an integral role by providing insight, expertise and sharing their personal experiences, both good and bad, about international trade. The hypothetical will entice lively discussion, addressing our topic from a range of different perspectives and teasing out the key issues for the benefit of the audience.

This event offers something different from the standard networking function or seminar series. You will be entertained, amused and possibly even astonished, but no matter what, will come away from the event with a heightened sense of knowledge and appreciation of international trade and have first hand exposure to some of Adelaide’s leading business players in the Asian arena.

Drinks, nibbles and networking opportunities will be provided both pre and post the Hypothetical event.

The Division of Business sees the hypothetical forum as a new and interactive way to engage with our Alumni and the business community. We invite you to share this intellectual experience with us.
