Master of Physiotherapy (Graduate Entry) (IMPE)
This program enables graduates to undertake a two year program, leading to a professional career in Physiotherapy.
Physiotherapists work with people of all ages, from babies to the aged, in fields as diverse as neurology, cardiorespiratory and musculoskeletal. Physiotherapists can be found in places as diverse as hospitals both public and private, private clinics, special schools, nursing homes, domiciliary care, home care programs and industry.
Previously in South Australia, a person wishing to practice as a physiotherapist needed to complete a four year undergraduate degree. Now, people who have completed a relevant prior degree can undertake a two year full-time, accelerated program in Physiotherapy.
The Master of Physiotherapy (Graduate Entry) has been awarded full accreditation for three years by the Australian Physiotherapy Council (APC). Ongoing reports by the University to the APC will be required to maintain this accreditation. Accreditation entitles graduates to register in Australia to practice as a physiotherapist.
With a changing health sector, new and exciting career opportunities are continuing to emerge for physiotherapists across a range health settings.
