Eligibility

Physiotherapy care is available to all members of the community, including those compensable by WorkCover and SGIC (those compensable by WorkCover or SGIC will be treated by postgraduate students or staff, not by undergraduate students). While referral by a medical practitioner is not necessarily required, we do like to know of any medical attention you may be receiving so as to help us ensure that we are giving you the most appropriate treatment.

Clinic hours

The Clinic Office is staffed between 9.00 am to 5.00 pm Monday to Friday.

Occasional variations in these consulting times occur at different times of the year. Please contact the Clinic for any enquiries.

Fees

Discounted fees apply for all members of the community who consult a student (either undergraduate or postgraduate). These discounted fees continue to apply for students, pensioners and the unemployed during non-teaching times (when School staff provide the service). During non-teaching periods of the year, all other patients are required to pay a full fee. For those who consult either postgraduate students or staff, a proportion of the cost for physiotherapy treatment is rebatable through private health insurance. For this reason these patients with private health insurance (and ancillary cover) will be advised not to make a booking with the undergraduate students.

Payment at the time of treatment is preferred (cash, cheque or credit card).

Insurers will be billed directly for treatment provided to individuals who are eligible for either motor vehicle accident or workers compensation.

If consulting an undergraduate student

Claims cannot be made against private health insurance for consultations with undergraduate students.

If consulting a postgraduate student

If consulting a member of academic staff

A proportion of the cost for consulting staff is rebatable through private health schemes with extras. During non-teaching times (late December until late March) there is a discount fee which applies to full-time tertiary students, and holders of Pensioner Concession and/or Health Care cards, if they consult a staff member).
