Application Process

To apply, graduates must first identify an Honours research project and then discuss their interest with the project supervisor. Links to the 2010 Honours projects can be found at the top of this page. How you apply for entry into the program depends on whether you are a domestic or international student.

Students are required to nominate up to three projects which have been discussed with the relevant supervisor, and obtain a signature from the principal supervisor to verify this.  These details are to be provided on the 'additional information sheet' that must be submitted with the application.

There first round closing date for applications for the 2010 Honours program is the 4th December 2009.  To have equal access to all Honours projects listed for 2010, applications must be received by this first round close date.  Applications for the program will be accepted after the 4th December 2009, however some of the projects may no longer be available.  No application will be accepted after 31st January 2010.

How do I select a project?

Students who wish to discuss projects being offered by the School of Pharmacy and Medical Sciences (PMS) are advised to view the research interests of staff within the school using the above link.  To discuss these research areas in more detail please contact the named researcher or Dr Miguel De Barros Lopes, the Honours coordinator for the School of Pharmacy and Medical Sciences.

The School of Health Sciences and the School of Nursing and Midwifery are offering a number of projects and further details about these studies and any pre-requisites that must be satisfied by students nominating for the particular project are provided in the links above.  These projects are open to all students - not only those completing degrees within the School of Health Sciences.

All students must make an appointment with potential supervisors to discuss the proposed projects, before making decisions about which projects they would like to undertake.

How will the offer of a place in the Divisional Honours program be made?

All applications will initially be reviewed to ensure the applicant meets the minimum entry criteria for the Divisional Honours Program (GPA = 5.0) and any stated pre-requisites for the selected project. Projects will then be offered to the student who has the highest GPA from those nominating that specific project. Successful applicants will be notified in writing of their offer in the program and the project that they will be undertaking by 18th December 2009.
