Submit an assignment to Turnitin
Note: If you are a new user, you must create a user profile before you can submit an assignment. See Create a Turnitin user profile. You must also be enrolled in a class before you can submit an assignment. See Enrol in a Turnitin class.
- If you have not already done so, log on to Turnitin.

- Click a class name to enter the class.

- Click the submit icon next to the assignment name to submit your assignment.
Note: You can upload a file or paste text. See Upload file to Turnitin or Paste text into Turnitin for instructions.
A digital receipt will be displayed after you have submitted your assignment. A copy of the receipt will also be emailed to you. The originality report will be generated within a few minutes of submitting your file.

- Click class portfolio.

- Click the icon in the contents column (showing 58% in the example above) to view the originality report, which provides a summary of the matching text found.
Note: If the icon is greyed out (as shown below) the report is not yet complete. Wait a few minutes and then refresh the page (click the Refresh icon at the top of the browser window).

The originality report will be generated within a few minutes of submitting your file. An example of a Turnitin originality report is shown below. Refer to the Originality Reports section (pages 7-11) in the Turnitin Student User Manual (PDF 1.3 MB) for information about reading originality reports.
