Turnitin overview
Turnitin is an electronic tool used to promote academic integrity at the University of South Australia. Turnitin can be used to verify the originality of any text document. You can submit your assignment to Turnitin for comparison with millions of other documents in the Turnitin database and on the Internet. Turnitin will generate a colour-coded originality report summarising the matching text found in each document. Every document you submit will be stored in the Turnitin database for comparison with other submitted documents.
You must be enrolled in a Turnitin class before you can submit an assignment. The teaching staff in your course may ask you to submit an assignment to Turnitin as part of the assessment requirements, in which case you should enrol in the relevant class using the details they give you. However, you can use Turnitin at any time—even if you have not been instructed to do so, by using the self-serve class.
See the Learning and Teaching Unit's Web site for more information about the uses of Turnitin at UniSA.
