Create a Turnitin user profile
Students please note: As of August 1st, 2009, Turnitin will no longer support versions of Internet Explorer earlier than 7.0.
Users of earlier versions of Internet Explorer are encouraged to upgrade to version 7.0 (or better) or access Turnitin using another supported browser (see a list at http://www.turnitin.com/static/system_requirements.html ).
You must create a user profile before you can submit assignments to Turnitin for the first time.
- Go to the Turnitin Web site.
- Click New Users Click Here button.
This will take you to the log in page.
- Click on the Create a User Profile link under the New Students start here section.
This will open the Create a New Turnitin Account window.
- Click on the student link.
This will open the Create a New Turnitin Student Account Window.
- Enter the class ID number provided by your lecturer
OR
the UniSA Turnitin Self-serve Class ID number - Enter the class enrolment
password provided by your lecturer
OR
the UniSA Turnitin Self-serve enrolment password.

Green ticks will appear next to the correctly entered information.
- Enter your first name
- Enter your last name
- Enter your UniSA student email address
- Enter a password of your choice.
- Confirm the password.
- Select a secret question from the dropdown menu by clicking on the arrow
- Enter the question answer
Note: the secret question will be used to identify you if you forget your password.
- Read the user agreement and click I agree -- create profile to complete your user profile.
- Click on the Log in to Turnitin button
You will see the class you have just enrolled in on the next screen, as shown below. This is your Turnitin home page. All the classes you enrol in will be displayed here.
