Chat groups overview
Your online learning environment may include an online chat group. The chat groups used in UniSAnet are synchronous chat groups. This means that participants must be online at the same time to participate in the 'conversation'. You will be able to 'chat' via text messages to the other members of your group in real-time. Chat sessions will be scheduled into your learning program and you’ll participate by logging on at a specified time—much like attending a tutorial.
It may take you a little time to feel comfortable with the chat medium and learn how to achieve the best outcomes from the experience. If you haven’t participated in a synchronous chat group before, you may experience some difficulty in reading messages from other participants (possibly posted within seconds of each other), processing the information and posting a reply. The experience is similar to having a conversation with a group of people who are all trying to talk at once. Don’t worry too much about spelling or grammar—just get your thoughts posted as quickly as possible and enjoy the group interaction.
