Resize image with Adobe Photoshop
When adding images to your staff home page, the following size standard must be achieved to ensure University Web accessibility guidelines are met.
Image standard
Resolution - 72 pixels / inch
Dimension - no larger than 500 pixels wide or 500 pixels high
File size - less than 25 KB
Resize image
- Open the file you wish to resize in Adobe Photoshop.

- Select Image.
- Select Image Size.
The Image Size window will open.

- Un-check the Resample image check box.
- Change the Resolution to 72 pixels/inch.

- Re-check the Resample image check box.
- Change the Width or Height to the required size.
Note: To ensure web accessibility; the image should not be larger than 500 pixels high or 500 pixels wide - Select OK.

- Click File.
- Click Save As.
The Save As window will open.

- Change the file extension to .jpg
- Rename the file
- Click Save.
The JPEG Options window will open.

- Use the slider to reduce the Quality of the image.
- Check the Size of the image is ~25KB.
- Click OK.
Note: Review the saved image. If you are unhappy with the image quality open the original (unchanged) image file and repeat the steps listed above, saving the file with a higher quality in the JPEG options window.
