Centra Audio Check
You will be prompted to run an Audio Check the first time you use Centra. However, it is advisable to run an Audio Check each time you participate in a Centra event. If you are using Centra for the first time you should also conduct a System Check―an Audio Check will be conducted automatically as part of the System Check process. Alternatively, you can run a manual Audio Check once you have logged into the Centra event by launching the Audio Wizard, as shown below.
Launch the Audio Wizard
- Click Tools on the Centra menu bar to reveal the Tools menu.
- Click Audio Wizard...

The first window of the Audio Wizard will appear:

- Click in the Recording Device drop down list to reveal the list items and select the name of your headset/microphone―consult the instruction manual for the headset/microphone if unsure of the name.
- Click in the Playback Device drop down list to reveal the list items and select the name of your headset/speakers―consult the instruction manual for the headset/speakers if unsure of the name.
- Click Next.
The next window will appear:

- Click Play.
- Listen to the audio playback and if necessary, move the Playback Volume slider to the right to increase the volume.
- Click Next when you are happy with the playback volume.
The next window will appear:

- Click Test:
- Begin speaking at a normal volume with the microphone close to your mouth.
- Your voice will be recorded for 5 seconds.
- The recording will be played back.
- If necessary, move the Microphone Volume slider to the right to increase the
recording volume.
- Repeat step 1 above to re-check the recording volume.
- Click Next.
The next window will appear:

- Click Headset mode if you are using a headset.
- Click Speaker mode if you are using a microphone and external speakers.
Note: It is not recommended that you tick the Voice activated check box because any sound, including a cough or sneeze will activate the microphone. This can become very distracting.
The final Audio Wizard window will appear:

- Click the Finish button, as indicated by the arrow in the image above.
The Audio Check may be repeated at any time during the Centra event if you experience audio problems.
