Submit assignment

Before you can submit an assignment for marking you need to:

Once you have selected the assignment the Submit assessment item window will open.

  1. Review the Submission instructions to ensure your assignment file meets the required file size and file type.
    Note: If your file does not meet the required file size or file type you will not be able to submit your assignment. A warning message will display. See File requirements for more information.
  2. Only use alpha numeric characters for assignment file names. For example, Chinese characters should not be used.
  3. If required, ensure your assignment file contains a cover sheet.
  4. Review Submission status.
    Note: The name of previously submitted files will display. Uploading a new version will replace the previous one. Your marker can only download your most recent submission.
  5. Click the "I agree to the above statement" check box to indicate that you agree with the Plagiarism statement.
    Note: Agreeing to the Plagiarism statement is mandatory, and this check box must be ticked before you can submit your assignment.

Once you have clicked the check box the Submit assessment item window will refresh and display the Browse button.

Note: If you have already submitted your assignment file and want to submit a new version see instructions on how to replace existing assignment files you submitted earlier.

The Choose file dialog box will open.

  1. Navigate to and select the assignment file you want to submit.
  2. Click Open.

The Submit assessment item window will refresh and display the file path.

Note for Mac users: Word files created on a Mac are often missing the ".doc" extension that is required for them to be accepted by AssignIT and viewed on a PC. After browsing for your file, check that it has the ".doc" extension, as indicated by the asterisk the image above. If it doesn't; you can type the ".doc" extension after the file name before clicking the submit button.

A progress bar will indicate the upload status of the file.

A submission confirmation window will open, as shown below, if you have successfully submitted your assignment.

A short time later you will also receive an email to your UniSA student email account advising that your assignment has been submitted successfully. An example of the kind of email is shown below.

Retain the email you receive as proof that you submitted the assignment via AssignIT.

You can now close the AssignIT Web site.
