Bulk downloading files

 

Important information about bulk downloading
 
Bulk downloading is done using a Zip file. The Zip file is created with the software on your computer, not by AssignIT. Therefore, you need to complete the following two steps to download the Zip and remove the assignment files. If you don't do this; feedback you enter into the assignment files may be lost.

Step 1
Save the downloaded Zip file to your hard drive or directory. DON'T OPEN IT 
Step 2
"Extract" the assignment files from the Zip following the instructions for the Zip program installed on your computer.
OR
Open each file in the Zip, and complete a "Save As" ; saving the file to a location on your hard drive or directory.

Begin the Collect assessment items process and select the Bulk downloading option.

  1. From the Quick select drop down menu select All, or one of other choices
    OR
  2. Select individual assessment items by clicking the check box in the Download column.
  3. Click Submit.

Note: Assessment items already collected as a bulk download will not display by default. To view downloaded assessment items click the Also show downloaded files checkbox located above the student list. Files already bulk downloaded will be identified by a red tick.

A Warning message will advise you to Save the zipped file. DO NOT OPEN IT.

The File Download window will open.

  1. Select a designated drive or directory to save the zipped file.
  2. Click Save.

The ZIP file containing the downloaded assignments will open in your designated drive or directory.

The Zip contains a file named 1_AssignITlist.csv which is an Excel spreadsheet containing details of the files downloaded. This file can be useful for recording details of your marking.

Assignment files have been automatically renamed by AssignIT so that the file name begins with the Mail ID of the student who submitted it.

Before you start marking

"Extract" the assignment files from the Zip following the instructions for the Zip program installed on your computer.
OR
Open each file in the Zip and select "Save As" to save the file to a location on your hard drive or directory.

Note:
You can print the files in bulk from Windows Explorer.

If necessary click the Next bulk download button to process the next batch of assignments.
