Create a new assessment item
Before you can create a new assessment item, you must complete the steps in:
- Click Create new as indicated by the arrow in the image above.
The Create a new assessment item window will open.
Step 1 : Create the assessment item details
- Select from the drop down menu either "Assignment" or "Exam".
- Depending on the choice you select above the Show grade to student will default to YES (for Assignments) and NO (for Exams).
Note: This choice is particularly important if you are setting up AssignIT for a final exam - as you do not generally want to return a grade to students for a final exam (instead students are normally notified of their final course grade). However if you want to be able to return a grade for an exam to students via AssignIT you will need to change the Show grade to student option to YES.
Next you must choose ONE of the following options for creating the new assessment item:
Option 1 The item will be graded, and students will submit it via AssignIT
Option 2 The item will be graded, but students will NOT submit it via AssignIT
Option 3 The item will be Non-graded pass/fail, and students will submit it via AssignIT
Option 4 The item will be Non-graded pass/fail, and students will NOT submit it via AssignIT
