Import screen capture
A screen capture is an image of the windows open on a computer screen. Screen captures are useful for enhancing instructional material. Numerous screen captures have been used on this Web site.
Take screen capture
- Open the screen view you wish to copy.
- Press Print Screen (Prt Scr) on the top right of your keyboard to copy the entire screen.
- Hold down the (Alt) key and press Print Screen (Prt Scr) to copy the active (top) window only.
Import screen capture
To import the screen capture into Paint.NET:
- Open Paint.NET.
- Click File.
- Click Acquire
- Click From Clipboard.
The screen capture will be copied to the Paint.NET window. You can then:
- Crop the image
- Resize the image.
- Add text.
- Add effects with editing tools.
