I
chose this program as I was keen to combine my passion for science with
my interest in medicine, and what better way to do this than….
Laboratory Medicine!
This area of work is important to me as I believe without research we
couldn’t have made all of the wonderful, serendipitous and life saving
discoveries in health science that we have, now and into the future. I
feel privileged to be part of it all!

This area of study is important to me because I have the chance to
learn about microbes and how they can affect our lives. I am also able
to get to know the blood groups and other things related to that which
is very useful in pathology and identifying different diseases.
Moreover, I will be able to help people and find ways of protecting them
against disease.

I studied laboratory medicine as initially I felt it would be a good
background to enable me to continue studies in another degree in other
areas of the medical field. Once I began I realised that the Medical
Science profession allowed me to work in several different disciplines.
Giving me the opportunity to either specialise in one field or continue
within a multi disciplinary environment.
