Aaron Linkevics
Master of Health Science (Health Service Management)

Aaron LinkevicsAaron is a Registered Nurse and enrolled in the Master of Health Science (Health Service Management) in mid-2005.  Aaron pursued postgraduate study for the opportunity to further his education and employability in the health care sector. The choice of courses available through the Master of Health Science program is vast. Since starting the Master of Health Science program, along with studying specific health science courses, Aaron has studied Public Relations and Human Resource Management,  and elected to complete the following courses, among others, in 2007, Accounting for Management, and Advanced Marketing . This variety has allowed him to gain valuable insights in the health management field from a variety of perspectives.

Career advancement is my primary objective of studying the Master of Health Science program. With the knowledge I have and will gain from this program I would like to pursue a career in government policy administration or managing a project in rural Australia.

To work in the Health Service Management field one will need the skills and attributes of a leader with critical thinking and analytical skills.

The best part of learning from professionals that have industry knowledge and experience is that it makes understanding real world concepts relevant. The range of support available with every aspect of studies is helpful. The lectures, workshops and online environment are highly informative and relevant to the health care industry.

I completed my undergraduate degree at UniSA and found it to be a great place to study. I have the benefit of excellent facilities, great environment and the flexibility to study my degree as I choose, internally, externally, online or any combination of these and at my own pace.

I have found the course content to be well informed and relevant to my career. I have advanced my critical thinking, analytical and leadership skills.

Finding time to attend classes can be difficult when working a 38 hour week but so far the internal components that I have participated in have been after business hours and on the weekends. UniSA understands that postgraduate students have other commitments and are keen to help you succeed.

I would highly recommend the Master of Health Science program to any health professionals that are looking to further their knowledge, education and career. This innovative and challenging degree is flexible in its approach to learning.

Aaron is currently working as a Technical Officer in the School of Nursing and Midwifery at UniSA.
