University-funded Research Institutes and Centres

 

Sansom Institute

The Sansom Institute represents a major development for the University, and brings together internationally prominent researchers in the areas of quality use of medicines and pharmacy practice, pharmaceutical science and molecular medicine.

Centre for Research into Sustainable Health Care

The Centre for Research into Sustainable Health Care provides a focal point for research programs aimed at the promotion and maintenance of understandings about good health, with particular emphasis on social and sustainable dimensions of health and health care.

Nutritional Physiology Research Centre

The Nutritional Physiology Research Centre represents a new association between the Universities of Adelaide and South Australia and the food industry. Its purpose is to provide a scientific basis for the optimisation of health by investigating the physiological mechanisms by which functional foods and targeted nutrient intakes can be used in conjunction with exercise programs to deliver health benefits.


Cooperative Research Centres

 

CRC for Water Quality and Treatment

The Cooperative Research Centre for Water Quality and Treatment provides a national strategic research capacity for the Australian water industry, focussed on issues relating to water quality management and health risk reduction, from catchment and reservoir management and water treatment to the distribution of drinking water to consumers' taps.

Centre for Allied Health Evidence

The Centre for Allied Health Evidence provides a unique opportunity to produce evidence-based solutions to allied health problems and ensure that treatment strategies are based on the best evidence and research available.

Centre for Applied Anthropometry

The Centre for Applied Anthropometry fosters research and scholarship in the field of anthropometry, with particular attention to the new technology of 3-D anthropometry.
