02/06 How to write an ARC Rejoinder - Information Session 1

What is the rejoinder process?

The selection processes for ARC Discovery Projects, ARC Discovery Indigenous Researchers Development and ARC Linkage Projects may include assessment by external peer assessors.

Where the ARC seeks external assessments, applicants may be given the opportunity to submit rejoinders. Rejoinder may assist applicants to clarify any misunderstanding or difference of opinion about perceived weaknesses in the proposal. It also provides an important feedback mechanism that may help researchers in future proposals.

The assessors' reports and the rejoinders may assist the ARC College of Experts or Selection Advisory Committee (SAC) members in assessing proposals. Therefore, a carefully crafted rejoinder may be crucial in helping to get your application supported by the ARC!

At UniSA, we are privileged to have representatives on the ARC's College of Experts who, through this experience, have acquired inside knowledge about the dos and don'ts of rejoinder writing. If you currently have an ARC application under review or plan to submit an application in the near future, I invite you to attend this important session to learn more about the art of rejoinder writing.

Presentation will be hosted by:
Professor Rob Short who served on the College of Experts for Engineering and Environmental Sciences and Professor Andrea Gerson, College of Expert Member for Physics, Chemistry and Geosciences

              Time:            3.00 to 5.00pm
