conference logoAfter the success of the first two conferences (in Lancaster UK, and Kingston, Canada) the University of South Australia is proud to host the 2010 conference to be held in Adelaide, 6–8 April 2010. It will be hosted by the Hawke Research Institute and the Bob Hawke Prime Ministerial Centre. The conference will be an exciting place to think about new ways of studying the natures, cultures and histories of emotional life.

Invited speakers include:

Sessions reflect an exciting breadth of interest: architecture, embodiment, cities, diaspora, education/teaching, emotional capitalism, emotional environments, emotional labour, emotional publics, fear and safety, feeling tourism, food/consumption, home/homelessness, love, media, medical emotions, memorialisation, non-human, non-Indigenous spaces, non-place, philosophies, poetics, queer, religion/spirituality, transnational emotions/migration, urban feelings, conflict, youth.

Selected papers will be published in special issues of Emotion, Space & Society (editors: Liz Bondi, Joyce Davidson, Elspeth Probyn and Mick Smith: http://ees.elsevier.com/emospa/). We invite proposals for special issues to be edited out of the papers presented at the conference.
