Aim

Dale Bagshaw and Elisabeth PorterThe Hawke Research Institute's Centre for Peace, Conflict and Mediation studies all types of conflict and promotes conflict transformation, mediation, dispute resolution and peace building that benefits diverse cultural groups in local, national, regional and international contexts.

Background

The CPCM was established in 1993 (initially as the Research Group for Mediation Studies and then the Conflict Management Research Group) under the direction of Associate Professor Dale Bagshaw. It is now part of the Hawke Research Institute.

Objectives

Invitation

The CPCM welcomes new partnerships with industry, the community, researchers and postgraduate students. We invite visits from international and national researchers with mutual interests.

The CPCM hosts research seminars, conferences and symposiums and conducts research, consultancies and community service projects. We welcome visiting scholars from within Australia and overseas and support Honours, Masters and PhD students.

4th Asia-Pacific Mediation Forum conference: 'Mediation in the Asia-Pacific: Constraints and Challenges', Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, 16–18 June 2008.

The 5th Asia-Pacific Mediation Forum conference will be held in India, 20–27 November 2010.
