Nicole Foss: a mentor for turbulent times

Are you puzzled, concerned even frightened, over the worsening economic situation? Where will it go next, why doesn't conventional economic 'wisdom' provide solutions? Documentary Australia Foundation screening - Life in Movement

Sunday 26 February, 2.30pm - 5pm screening followed by Q&A

Venue: Mercury Cinema, 13 Morphett Street, Adelaide

Documentary Australia Foundation and Closer Productions are hosting a screening of the award winning SA film Life in Movement, to be introduced by the director and producer, Bryan Mason and Sophie Hyde.  Life in Movement is a fine example of an arts documentary which attracted the attention of funding bodies and philanthropists as a powerful story of passion and artistic endeavour that educates and inspires.

Sound of Mumbai: A Musical

Friday 2 March, 6.15pm - 8.30pm

Allan Scott Auditorium, UniSA City West campus, Hawke Building (entry via Ground Floor)

For one emotional night a group of children from the slums of Mumbai, India, get a chance to experience a different world as they perform The Sound of Music with a classical orchestra, fostering hopes that it could change their lives forever.  Those who attend will have the opportunity to meet other researchers and community members interested in the well-being of children, the role of arts in translating and transforming cultures, and in undertaking collaborative research projects that can make a difference.

Cost: $10 per ticket - all funds raised will be donated to an Education Fund to enable Ashish and his friends to achieve their dreams.
