The second monograph in Moon Arrow Press's series Modern Art in South Australia, Alexander Sadlo: Experimental Journey - An Artist in Three Countries. The book traces the artist's career from his days as a student in Prague, to his productive migration experience to Australia, where he lived in Adelaide for over twenty years, and finally to England, where he has lived since 1972. It shows the artist's work over a wide range of media, from paintings in oils and enamel to his work in the three dimensional forms of ceramics and jewellery. There is a brief summary of the artist's career in Czech.
Experimental Journey will be launched by art historian and educator Dr. Catherine Speck at the Bradley Forum in the new Hawke Building at City West campus at the University of South Australia, on Friday 14 December at 6.30pm. There will be a follow-up book signing and Meet the Artist session at the Royal South Australian Society of Arts on Saturday 15 December at 2pm.
The book has seen Moon Arrow's publishing venture progress in a quantum leap - the book is now larger than first planned and in full colour. The cover will have 100mm flaps and the book will be lock bound.
Wakefield Press has agreed to act as Moon Arrow Press's distributor, so the book is being printed through one of their printers, at Hyde Park Press.
