Tuesday 20 June is World Refugee Day and Amnesty International (SA/NT) with
the support of the Australian West Papua Association, The Australian Refugee
Association and the Bob Hawke Prime Ministerial Centre are hosting a public
forum to highlight the plight of refugees in Australia.
In light of the current Migration Act changes currently being debated by the
Federal Parliament in relation to off shore detention centres, Amnesty
International feels that it is important for members of the community to
have the opportunity to discuss the human rights concerns and learn more
about the current treatment of refugees in Australia.
