Visiting the Gallery
The Gallery is open to the public from 9am - 5pm Monday to Friday and is located at UniSA's City West campus, Hawke Building - level 3, 50 North Terrace (cnr Fenn Place and North Terrace).

Using a multi-media approaches, the Gallery draws attention to the main
issues that govern a fair society - through images, audio quotes,
socially oriented art/technology installations and
other special features.
The space expresses the richness of human ideas and dilemmas, with acknowledgment of Aboriginal culture through to reflections on our interconnected place in the world and the role of the media. It also communicates the local/global paradigm, especially in terms of environmental sustainability and the actions we ourselves can take to make changes for the global good.
The Civic Gallery also features guest installations, including relevant University research and projects that support human wellbeing.
Visitors to the Civic Gallery are of all ages and either present through formal visit arrangements, as a result of booked conferences, lectures, seminars or invitation events, or casually.
The Gallery is an ideal venue for gatherings of up to approximately 250 people such as cocktail receptions, book launches etc.

The Gallery has been generously endowed by the family of the late Kerry Packer, a highly influential figure in Australia's media industry history, and superbly designed by outstanding architect, John Wardle in association with Hassell Adelaide. Funding support has also been provided by Mitsubishi Motors Australia.
The Kerry Packer Civic Gallery within the Bob Hawke Prime Ministerial Centre of the University of South Australia celebrated its opening with the Hawke Building on 11 October 2007.
Also located within the Hawke Building is the Anne & Gordon Samstag Museum of Art featuring three substantial and elegant exhibition galleries over two levels. The Samstag Museum of Art aims to stimulate, challenge and engage its audiences with a program of exhibitions, as well as through community activities and events that add depth and variety to the visual arts and cultural life of South Australia.
